On Wednesday Jan. 22, we were lucky to meet Miss Schebel's sister, Alix Schebel. She skyped in to our classroom to talk to us about how microbes can be designed to clean up ground toxins.
Our top 5 favourite things that we learned were:
1) How she could change microbe DNA to make them eat a certain food or even glow in the dark!
2) They are so small, they need to be worked on with a microscope.
3) How some of them are clear.
4) The lifespan of the ones she works with is only 3-5 days!
5) They are only made out of one cell!
A special thank you to Quinton and Dawson who welcomed and thanked Miss Schebel. The grade 7s demonstrated EXCELLENT school values of kindness and respect during the interview/conference.
