As we begin exploring our online identities and reflecting on the way we represent ourselves, I cannot help but to be concerned with the amount of messaging, negativity and drama that we encounter at every turn. In class, we have talked about leaving the internet a better place than we found it and perpetuating positive ideas.

I am proud to have found a role model who has defied all odds and is using her challenges as a way to achieve a goal that we strive for every day -- creating an environment of kindness and respect.

New Book Report Outline Posted

Check out the outline for the last book report under the ELA 7 tab. The students and I are pretty excited about it already. I hope that you enjoy sharing in your child's learning and expression for this final home reading program project. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information on this project!

Autism Awareness Day

April 2 is Autism Awarenss Day. Today we watched two videos about autism and analyzed them using our viewing strategies. Students were asked:

1) What were the main messages in both videos?
2) What features did the producers use to make the videos effective?
2) Which video did you find more effective? Use specific examples to support your response.

I was so impressed by the connections that the students made and the understanding that they demonstrated for individuals with autism.
